There are rates now available for 2010 on many sites, Asiaoz has rates for most hotels through to October 2010

There are hotels along the beach road in Karon and there are also those that go along Patak Road which is quite a way from the beach and the beach road so take care when booking.
There are so many good hotels in all price ranges along the beach road there is not much point or reson to be stuck a long way from the beach, either a very long walk or having to take a pricey tuk tuk ride.
I wouyld stick with the places along the beach road

Is Karon that much quieter than Patong. We are going low season so want to do lots of shopping and have places to go if it rains. Have been thinking about Patong but open to options

Also try for Phuket - Hotels in Phuket and that includes not just Patong but all the other beaches and other parts of Phuket including hotels, resorts, holiday self catering apartments, pool villas, local prices / cheap deals, and reviews
