Frequent trains and buses along the coast makes getting from Bangkok to Chumphon easy, there are currently no flights from Bangkok to Chumphon. Also see also the information under How To Get To Chumphon. Lomprayah operates an air condition express bus services from both Hua Hin and Bangkok to Chumphon twice daily, this is in addition to to express air condisitioned buses from Bangkok to Chumphon.

I have never heard of Chumphon but when I had a look it seems to be the place to get the boats to Koh Tao, it was interesting, seems an off the beaten track place, hope we can visit when we manage to go to Koh Tao sometime.

I think if there were flights dopwn there then it would be become popular really fast, it is out of the way but with the road and the express buses, also the trains along the coast it is a place that is nice for a few days if you want to beach hop, but the best places to stay are outside of Chumphon itself, but quite a few people stop on the way to or from Koh Tao Island.

There were some flights years ago, I don't know why no airline has flights from Bangkok to Chumphon, as it would be so much easier for getting to and from Koh Tao.

You need to check with Solar Air if those flights are operating or not
