I is worth booking a day trip in advance during the low season, we head that in August the sea could be rough. Should we book in advance or wait until we get there in case the weather is bad ?

August is well in the rainy season and seas can be rought strongly suggest you wait and book once there if the weather is ok, and book with a good reliable company.

Yes wait until you are in Phuket before booking because of the weather at that time of year
