What is the best time of year to visit Phuket to be sure of getting good weather. Whats is the weather like in Phuket in Summer ? Is Summer a good time to go.

December to March for the best weasther, November and April can be ok for weather also.

May to October is low season and the weather is not so good, plus side though is very cheap hotels and less crowds and you can still get lucky with the weather.

Between May and October you may want to look at the Gulf of Thailand side, islands such as Koh Samui and Koh Tao and the beaches such as Hua Hin. Here are some average rainfall statistics over the years from the Thai Meteorological departments.
Average monthly rainfall in mm

May:
Phuket - 345 .... Koh Samui - 157 .... Hua Hin - 105

June:
Phuket - 286 .... Koh Samui - 93 .... Hua Hin - 73

July:
Phuket - 284 .... Koh Samui - 130 .... Hua Hin - 93

August:
Phuket - 272 .... Koh Samui - 105 .... Hua Hin - 95

September:
Phuket - 417 .... Koh Samui - 113 .... Hua Hin - 115

October:
Phuket - 350 .... Koh Samui - 265 .... Hua Hin - 211

So you can see there is a very great difference

Hua Hin has very good weather during the summer, i think it has the lowest rainfall out of all the beach resorts during the summer

yes check the weather, it can be different from one part of the island to another, and of course can vary from clear sunshine to cloudy and rain, but the rain is often just for a short while so you can still have a good chance to enjoy
