Is Karon beach busy like Patong, is there a lot of nightlife at karon beach and restaurants. If there is nightlife at Karon Beach maybe we will stay there.

Karon beach was real quiet, nothing like Patong, but you can get a tuk tuk from Karon beach to Patong, I don't know what the fare would be, but Karon seemed very quiet to us but we only went through there.

There are some restaurants near some of the resorts and hotels along the Karon Beach Road and at the very south end of Karon as you go up the hill towards Kata beach there are quite a lot of places to eat, and places to get a drink.
Towards the north end of Karon Beach is Karon Circle, before the lake, if you go up the street from Karon Cirlce there are plenty of shops, restaurants and some bars, but if you are looking for nightlife then Patong is where to go ( or stay ), you can get to Patong from Karon by tuk tuk in about 15 to 20 minutes depending on where in Karon you are coming from.

The shops we found were in the street heading inland from the circle by Karon beach. There were a lot of tourist and very touristy alltogether.
