If you like hotels that are right on the beach then Hua hin has plenty of beach hotels, they range from top beach resort hotels like the Sofitel and Anantara, Hilton and Hyatt down to middle range beach hotels and there are also in Hua Hin beach hotels that are inexpensive, or perhaps just a short walk from the beach there are plenty of accommodations including guest house, bed and breakfast, holiday and vacation rentals and small luxury beach hotels in Hua Hin. Also cottages and bungalows near the beach.

Is the beach at the Hyatt nice ?

If you want hotels along the long and wide beach at takiab Bay there are not that many, the Anantasila and Bluewave are right on the beach, others near the beach are smaller places like takiab Resort and then there are the bungalows places like Ocean Breeze, Coral keys and Lunar Huts, further back but walking distance are the Boathouse and Chom Talay, new pace opening soon one road back is the new Seahorse.

Another of the Hua Hin beach hotels is the Marriott resort and Spa, that is also on the beach in Hua Hin. There is a Sheraton opening on the beach somewhere in the area but not sure when or where.

We had 4 days at the Hyatt Hua Hin which was very good but they were full for the other days so we moved to a smaller place, Nern Chalet, which was very different but cheaper and good value on the beach. Very different as a small boutique style hotel at the beach, small pool and terrace but nice sea view room so in some ways we liked it better, but the Hyatt of course had so many facilties and restaurants, I think we had a mix of a large beach resort and then something quieter, and of course a lot cheaper, lovely area! Very good deal for both with Hua Hin Hotel Reservations, the Hyatt is very good, but there are also some other very nice boutique hotels we saw, Nern Chalet was small but very nice, about 5 minutes past the Hyatt and we could walk to the fishing village and see the illuminated Golden Buddha at night. Also we were walking distance from Nern Chalet along the beach or along the road to the lovely Supatra-by-the-Sea restaurant which is one of the best restaurants in Hua Hin.

I am glad you liked the Hyatt and also the Anantasilla, the beach at the Anantasilla is much nicer than the main beach, in fact the Takiab Bay Beach seems to be featured much more now when showing photos of the beach in Hua Hin, still a lovely area but getting more popular as more people realise there are more beaches in Hua Hin than just the main beach neat the town centre.

Look for the special offers that are available between May and october, there are plenty of very good travel bargains available now

It is worth looking at the hotels in the Cha Am section of this forum, Cha Am and Hua hin flow into eachother so some of those beach hotels may be of interest also

There are rates now available for 2010 on many sites, Asiaoz has rates for most hotels through to October 2010

It is very easy to get from Bangkok Airport to Cha Am and Hua Hin by taxi.
From Bangkok city also express buses, and by train.

You can see a very detailed list of the hotels including those beach hotels, all the main ones like Anantara, Hilton, Sofitel, Marriott, Hyatt Regency, Civa Som, Wora Bura, and the others are right on the beach, Hua hin Hotels has over 50 resorts and hotels in the Hua Hin area.
