The low season between May and October is a good time for very cheap hotel rates for Phuket Thailand. You can find lots of discounts, special promotions and special offers, check those websites already suggested and then you can look for the hotels with the low season cheap rates and special offers.

There are plenty of very good last minute hotel deals available for hotels with rooms available for September and October

This really is the peak time for making those hotel bookings for Phuket for the peak season from November through until March, if you are planning on booking a hotel in Phuket for November, December or January you need to make the booking as soo as you can to ensure you get a good deal on your Phuket hotel.

Which beach ? There are hundreds of Phuket hotels, resorts and other accommodations on Phuket. In the 3 star range perhaps close to 100 choices, so you need to tell us which beach area or which type of beach, whether busy like Patong, somewhat quieter such as Kata or Karon, quieter like Surin, Bangtao, Nai Harm or a very quiet beach. The more you can tell us about the area and type of hotel you want to stay the easier it is to give good recommendations. Look at the websites Brett and Rebecca have suggested to get ideas.

Compared with other parts of the world this region is in fact not doing so bad for toursim compared with others. Good that airlines and hotelds are all offering good prices to attract visitors.

Very good list of good places in Phuket

Hotels on Phuket has a very long list of luxurious hotels and resorts on Phuket, lots of photos and reviews, plus cheap rates !

Very good thing is you do NOT need to give any credit card information to request a booking, plus the booking request goes direct to the hotel !
Once they confirm ( very quick ) and you are happy you only pay 1 night deposit, balance you pay a couple of weeks before you arrive.
That is so much better than those places that want credit card details before they can even confirm it's available or not and then want you they pay the whole lot in advance.Plus rates are good and lots of special offers and promotions

The hotels are not so busy during the low season so you can find some very good deals if you look, those suggestions were very good to find some very good cheap low season bargains. The weather will not be perfect during the low season but the hotel rates are just so cheap I don't mind at all. Therer are always plenty of things to see and do, or simply just relax at those times when the weather isn't perfect.

The Ibis is pretty good value for money if you want something mid price range in Kata area
