There are very nice hotels in Pattaya and the rates are quite good - Pattaya Hotels last minute also for New year and for 2012 hotel bookings in Pattaya.

Pattaya is so much cheaper than places like Phuket or Koh Samui and lots to do, lots of attractions, boat trips to Koh Larn island, the shopping and restaurants are cheap and very good.

Hotel prices in Pattaya have always been cheap, plus lots of good places to stay whatever your budget

Pattaya has always been cheaper than most of the other resort areas in Thailand, though it is a very busy place, it is after all a city at the beach.
For quieter and nice we do prefer Hua Hin on the other side of the coast south of Bangkok
