I've been wanting to do this for a while. If you've never seen some of the vids that get posted up on the Hellaflush website - you're missing out. The JDM Allstar vids are flat out awesome.
I've also been wanting to do this for a while. I don't currently own an HD cam but I am planning on buying one in the next few months. I do own quite a bit of editing software (Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere and a few others). I used those for editing Halo gameplay footage back in my hardcore gamer days, hehe.
Just recently got into photography so I'm not too familiar with how to shoot a quality vid but I think I could definitely edit footage with the best of them.
BTW - we definitely need to do this. Nuff said. |

I just bought a DSLR camera so once I figure out how to use the video part I can help film. I think we could come up with a pretty good video. _________________ - Wesley

I think the hardest part of any of this will be getting enough people in the same place at the same time to call it a group video. Several of us are constantly at the dragon, Several are constantly at autocrosses, Several are constantly hard-parking Sonic...etc, but rarely all at the same time. |
Multi Car scenes are definately a must, but all at once definately not neccessary.

Sounds good. We can shoot tons of stuff, but in the end, you need to get picky and nitty gritty. Think Connor.. Takes 400 pictures, publishis 20. Not complaining, in my opinion, that is the best way to do.

So is this going anywhere or is it just a good idea. After reading all this I am wondering. I too would like to be a part of this, BUT legal is a priority as well as something that doesn't makes us look like a bunch of clowns. What you call street cred some of us call professional standing in the communites we work.
Done right and I think everyone would like to be a part. Done wrong and I will lead the way to the exit. Not knowing much about audiovisual, I think that surely a compromise can be made between trained expertise and various other levels we have at our disposal to produce something we can be proud to say we were a part. |

as self assumed producer ... i wouldnt want anybody's stupid antics. I was wanting the video to represent us as a group of automotive enthusiest, not a bunch of ricer burners or clinton hwy dumbasses.
The NSX video from before is good inspiration, maybe not as opaque with the side story, but something that speaks of class, awesomeness, and inspirations at once. Something we can put on our homepage for someone, anybody (old, young, honda, nissan, ferrari, stock, or raceprepped) to say, that was awesome. We are mostly all here cause we appriciate cars, not cause i wanna street race down pellissippi. I think we portray that in a decent manner too. When i tell people about SCF, i note that we are cool guys, look after each other, and arent all for showboating bunch of idiots. I thought of the video to actually portray that idea in the first place.
Its going to take some time if it is all i have in my head.
Now i was joking about being "The Producer" but somebody has to try to collaborate everything. I think we are voting andrew in as the editor as he has the most inspiration and expierence. I (We) welcome all ideas, whether it is a good idea for a scene or anything. Keep idea coming. I got a few to run by you guys too. Wecome any expertise or equipment.
Was hoping to get some practice shots going on our 23rd dragon run. Maybe our autoXs too. _________________

I don't have the most experience by any stretch of the imagination. But I'm willing to help with editing. I think me and Ponda can get some good stuff flowing together for the film.
I do have Vegas Movie Studio. _________________

yeah, I have the industrial version of that. it's a version of this thing:

you could probably climb a wall with 2 of them. I've had them in the car for some "dukes of hazard" autocross action without anything coming loose. The actual owner of the mount has had it on the outside of his volvo for some dragon action with no problems. _________________

| Ive got a great suction mount and I think the external mic would help if you have the camera set up outside the car and you want to be able to hear anything clearly you would need the mic mounted inside the car so you don't get that awful wind noise that everyone always has in their videos. |

I think this has the potential to great!
Take a look at amsperformance.com videos, they are almost always clean and well done....
at the very least they could give some ideas for different shots or camera placement
